Privacy Policy
Effective October 8, 2026
Who we are
OpenCurious (opencurious.com) publishes directories, research tools and essays. Questions about this policy or your data: hello@opencurious.com.
What we collect
Email address you submit. If you subscribe to the newsletter or join the Go Divergent waitlist, we receive the email address you enter and which list you joined.
Visitor and device data. We use Warmly, a website-visitor intelligence service. Its script runs in your browser, sets a cookie and local storage identifier, and records pages viewed and device information. Warmly and partners it works with may use this to identify the company, and in some cases the person, behind a visit.
Server logs. Our hosting provider records technical request data such as IP address, browser and time of request to operate and secure the site.
Who receives it
- Web3Forms delivers form submissions to our inbox.
- Warmly provides visitor intelligence, as described above.
- Vercel hosts the website.
We do not sell the email addresses you give us. These providers may process data in the United States.
Why we use it
To send the emails you asked for, to understand which content and organizations are interested in our work and follow up with them, and to keep the site running and secure.
Your choices and rights
Every newsletter email lets you unsubscribe, or email us and we will remove you. You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or to object to its use, by emailing hello@opencurious.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have additional rights, including the right to complain to a data protection authority.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we do not load the Warmly script. You can also block cookies in your browser settings.
Retention
We keep email addresses until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Other data is kept only as long as our providers need it to deliver their service.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the effective date above. See also our editorial policy.
